In 2015, a family man arrived in Florida with two things: a job at the hospital and a longing for the sun after raising a family in Maryland for 20 years. After decades as an ICU physician: saving lives, working long nights, carrying the weight of critical care, he needed a place to breathe.
He found it in Pine Island.
With his father's inspiration growing coconut trees in the Philippines, his dream sprouted. Dr. Caparros built what his family now tends: a 8.5-acre grove dedicated to growing tropical fruit the right way.
