The Maha Chanok mango is grown in the Maha Chanok district of Samut Prakan, Thailand, in the southern part of the region. It was introduced around 1951, and was quickly popularised as an excellent eating mango, in particular for its exceptional sweetness. The Maha Chanok mango is now grown in many parts of Thailand, and good quality fruit is exported overseas.

The Maha Chanok mango is cultivated in many parts of Thailand. In Maha Chanok, it is typically grown around 1,100 metres above sea level and is harvested between mid-November and early December.
